"Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Thursday January 9, 1930
Mrs. Belle Humbert Crawford, 72, died at 8 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Lynn Crawford, 1265 Third avenue, after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Crawford had lived in Cedar Rapids for the last ten years, maintaining her home at 121 North Nineteenth street until a year ago. During the last year she had made her home with Dr. and Mrs. J. Lynn Crawford.
She was born on a farm in Benton county, Aug. 15, 1857, and lived there until her marriage in 1879 to Hulon G. Crawford of Vinton, who preceded her in death fifteen years. Four children were born to this union. One died in infancy. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Walters of Toledo, Ia., and Mrs. Grace Crawford of this city; a son, Leslie C. Crawford of Milwaukee; two sisters, Mrs. Adelaide H. Dunn and Mrs. Ina H. Stewart, both of this city; and two brothers, Charles O. Humbert and Robert M. Humbert of Scobey, Mont.
Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Presbyterian church at Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Turner chapel. The Rev. Dr. Robert Little, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Cedar Rapids, will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery at Marion."
