Norma Owen Howell, 96, of Willow Gardens Care Center, Marion, died there Saturday.
She was born June 5, 1894, in Marion, and married Jesse B. Howell Oct. 4, 1916, in Marion. He died in 1957. She graduated from the University of Iowa in 1916. She was a member of the Congregational Church; Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority; Marion Linn Chapter DAR; Society of Mayflower Descendants; Theristrial Club; Chapter CS, PEO; and served on the Marion Library Board.
Survivors include two daughter, Betty McCarthy of West Barnstable, Mass.; and Ellen Newman of Amherst, N.Y.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Private graveside services: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion, by the Rev. Mark Tuttle of First Methodist Church, Marion. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion.
