Mrs. Lucille Touro, age 86, died Tuesday at 5 p.m. at a Cedar Rapids hospital. As Lucille Louise Roy, daughter of Frederic and Louise Roy, she was born at Dubuque. In 1861 she came with her parents to Linn county in a covered wagon driven by oxen, and located on a farm north of Marion which her father purchased from the government. She went to what is now known as Hillsdale school, later attended by all her children and six of her grandchildren.
She was married to Louis Touro Feb. 15, 1877. Mr. Touro preceded her in death eight years ago. Four children were born to them, three sons, Fred, Henry and George, and one daughter, Katherine Langhoff. Besides her children, she is survived by twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Louise Munier of Marion and Mrs. Catherine Lovey of France, preceded her in death. During her youth, she affiliated with the Presbyterian church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Yocom chapel. The Rev. W.E. Fisher, pastor of the Presbyterian church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
