Funeral services were held Saturday, June 21, at 2 at the Springville Methodist church for Mrs. Harry (Ivy) Hindman, 78, who passed away June 18 following a brief illness. The Rev. Maurice Frevert had charge of the services and music was provided by Betty Sue McShane, soloist.
Mrs. Hindman was born in Wilsonville, Neb., the daughter of Frank and DeLane Swecker. She moved with her parents to Linn county, when she was six months old. Here she spent most of her life with the exception of three years in Minnesota and one year in Oregon. The past three years she had lived near her daughter at Springville.
On March 14, 1901 she was married to Harry Hindman who survives. Other survivors include a son, Ivan, Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys McShane, Springville; two brothers, Harvey Swecker of Toppenish, Wash., and Lawrence Swecker of Anamosa; five grandchildren, Barbara and Carole McShane, Irene, Tommy and Karen Hindman.
Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery, Marion. pallbearers were Lester Hindman, Russell Joyce, John Dixon, Dale and Glen Betenbender and Walter O'Connor.
