Harry Hindman passed away at the Mt. Vernon Nursing Home Tuesday March 10, at the age of 91.
He was the son of Thomas Best and Mary C. Hindman, and was born Sept. 16, 1872 on the farm home northeast of Marion.
On March 14, 1901 he was married to Ivy B. Swecker. They had two children, Ivan of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Gladys McShane of Springville.
Mr. Hindman farmed all his life in the Marion and Central City neighborhoods until his health forced him to retire in 1954. In April 1963 he entered the Mt. Vernon Nursing Home.
He was preceded in death by his wife on June 18, 1958 and by two brothers, William and David.
Survivors include a brother, Clarence, of Central City; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Joyce of Whittier and Ada B. Hindman of Alhambra, Calif.; five grandchildren and one great.
Funeral services were conducted in the Springville Methodist church by the Rev. Harold Martin Thursday, March 12 at 2:30 p.m. with burial in the Marion Oak Shade Cemetery. The Hunte Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
