William L. Raker, 51, of 412 Linwood St. SW, employee of Cherry-Burrell Corp 28 years and lifelong Cedar Rapids resident, died in a hospital at 5:45 a.m. Thursday after a brief illness. Born here Oct 23, 1908, he was married to Marty Ellen Convey Oct 30, 1933.

Surviving are his wife; a sister, Helen Ralston of Robins, and a brother, Webster, of Cedar Rapids.

Mr. Raker was a member of St. Ludmila’s church, Eagles and Cedar Rapids Bowling Assn.
Services: Beatty-Beurle’s at 8:30 Monday and St. Ludmila’s church at 9 Monday by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Frank R. Hruby.
