Mrs. Louisa R.J. Uht died Sunday morning at eleven o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry C. North, 886 Twelfth street. Her death came as a result of a stroke on the previous Friday noon.
She was born Jan. 4, 1848, in Jefferson county, Mo., coming to Iowa in 1920, living at Vinton and then at Urbana before coming to Marion about a year ago.
She was first married to J.A. Huskey, and one daughter, Miss Hurel Huskey, of Waterloo, survives this union. A son died some years ago. She was married again in 1870 to John A. Uht. There were four children by this marriage two sons dying in infancy, and one son, Rev. Christian L. Uht, in later years. Surviving is her daughter, Mrs. North.
She was a member of Urbana lodge No. 180, O.E.S. She joined the Lutheran church in early youth, but attended the M.E. church in her later years. One brother, Christian Gillman, lives in St. Louis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the M.E. church, in charge of the Rev. Ralph Hall Collin, the pastor. Burial in Oak Shade cemetery.
