Dennis F. Schmidt, 43, of 3126 Jordan's Grove Rd., rural Springville, died Friday in Mercy Hospital following a sudden illness.
He was born June 29, 1943, at Muscatine, and married Susan Helvick on March 16, 1968, in Cedar Rapids. He was a programmer for Rockwell Collins for 22 years and attended Gospel Hall, Marion.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Angela, and a son, Derek, both at home; his father, Fred of Leon; a sister, Connie Waugh of Libertyville; and a grandmother, Emma Morehead, Marion.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday, Murdoch Chapel, Marion, by Allan Christopherson. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call at the chapel from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
