The funeral services of the late Mrs. Simon Fleisher whose death occurred Wednesday, July 4, were held from the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Cook at 3 o'clock Friday afternoon and were attended by a large concourse of neighbors and friends. Rev. W.F. Pitner, pastor of the M.E. church had charge of the services. In his remarks he paid a high tribute to the memory of her whose life work is finished and spoke comforting words to the sorrowing relatives from the text of scripture, Rev. 14:13, "And I heard a voice from heaven, saying unto me, Write, blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea: saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them." Mrs. Y.G. Shumack, Mrs. S.N. Parsons, Messrs. J.M. Tallman and E.J. Esgate, with Miss Edith Bailey as accompanist, sang, "Asleep in Jesus," "We Are Coming Down the Valley One by One," and "Oh, Think of a Home Over There." The floral offerings were many and beautiful. The pall bearers were Messrs. C.W. Braska, Frank Northrup, Ira Grassfield, H.J. Holloway, J.E. Dumont and T.G. White. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery, Rev. Pitner read the following obituary:
