MOURN DEATH OF TWO LOYAL MEMBERS [union]
...The death of Brother Williams had been momentarily expected by those who were informed as to the nature of his affliction...Brother Jesse Williams had been a member of the union for many years and was employed by J.C. Grady in the house moving business. He had been ill and unable to work since late in the spring and as his condition grew worse he went to the state university hospital at Iowa City where it was determined that he was suffering from a tumor of the brain. An operation was decided to be the only opportunity to regain his health and this was performed about six weeks ago. However, it was unsuccessful as the tumor was found to be too deeply embedded and thus he lingered until last Friday when he died. The remains were taken to Beatty's undertaking parlors where the funeral was held on Tuesday and interment was had in the Marion cemetery. So passes a loving husband, an industrious workman, a loyal trade unionist and a good citizen.
