Raymond M. Kent, 83, a longtime Marion resident, passed away March 14, at his home following a sudden illness. He was born the son of Charles and Jane Jeffrey Kent on July 17, 1903 in Cedar County. On October 22, 1929 he married Phoeve Brown, who died Jan. 25, 1985. Kent was a route salesman with Peter Pan Bakery and later a custodian with the Marion School system. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Marion.
Surviving are a son, Charles Kent of Marion; two daughters, Janice Wallace of Minneapolis, Minn., and Jane Moyer of Central City; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and sister, Bessie Golden of Marion. He was preceded in death by his wife; four brothers, and two sister[s].
Services were Tuesday at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion by Rev. Dick Watkins with interment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
