Phoebe E. Kent, 79, of 470 Seventh St., a lifelong resident of Marion, died Friday evening at St. Luke's Hospital following a short illness.
She was born Dec. 22, 1905, at Marion. On Oct. 22, 1929, she married Raymond Kent in Marion. She attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She worked for Marion Independent Schools for 22 years and retired in 1974. She was member of the First United Methodist Church of Marion and Grove City Rebekah Lodge No. 35.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son, Chuck Kent of Marion; two daughters, Janice Wallace of Egan, Minn., and Jane Moyer of Central City; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Murdoch Chapel, Marion, by the Rev. Dick Watkins and Grove City Rebekah Lodge No. 35. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Murdoch Chapel after 4 p.m. Monday. A memorial fund has been established.
