Bernard H. Pearson Sr., 69, of 113 East Willman St., died Thursday, May 16, 1996, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Monday, St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Robert Dotzel. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, where a Masonic service begins at 6:30 p.m., and after 10 a.m. Monday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Donna; five sons, and two daughters; two stepchildren; two brothers; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. {names omitted for privacy}

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, JoAnn and Beverly.

Bernard was born Dec. 9, 1926, in Rock Island, Ill., to Harold and Irene Carlson Pearson and married Donna Rich on May 23, 1981, in Nashua, Iowa. He served in the Army during World War II, and during his early years worked in Rock Island. In 1956, he moved to Cedar Rapids and worked at Triple E Manufacturing in Marion. He began working at Rockwell-Collins in 1959, mainly as a co-coordinator, retiring in 1982. Bernard also owned Pearson Detective Agency for several years. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Bruce Lodge No. 665 and Scottish Rite.
