Robert D. Bailey, 8, of 113 East Willman St., Hiawatha, died May 17 at the University Hospital in Iowa City. He was born the son of Lee and Donna Rich Bailey on Sept. 17, 1966 in Cedar Rapids. He has resided the past five years with his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Moenk in Hiawatha. He was in the second grade at the Kenwood elementary school. Robbie was a member of the Zion Lutheran church of Hiawatha.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Robert W. Moenk of Hiawatha; his father, Lee W. Bailey of Marion; a brother, William Bailey of Hiawatha; a sister, Renee Bailey of Hiawatha; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tony Hepker of Marion, Melvin Rich of Marion and Edith Moenk of Hopkinton.
Services were held at 1 p.m. May 20 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Hiawatha, conducted by the Rev. Larry Brelje. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery at Monticello. Murdoch Chapel in Marion had charge of the arrangements. Friends may if they wish contribute to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital as a memorial.
