Lowell L. Weeter, 67, of 3100 First St., Marion, died Monday in his home after a lengthy illness.
Born Sept. 29, 1921, at Lorimor, he married Lorraine McGuire July 19, 1941, at St. Joseph, MO. He served with the Army during World War II. Mr. Weeter was co-owner of House of Home Furnishings at Marion, retiring in 1984. He attended Squaw Creek Baptist Church, Marion.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Peterson of Marion and Judith McAtee of Cedar Rapids; three sons, Jerry and Randy, both of Denver, Colo., and Rick of Iowa City; five brothers, Orville of Mount Ayr, Wayne of Osceola, C.D. of Lago Vista, Texas, Dale of Denver, Colo., and Frank Jr. of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Lucille McNeal of Cedar Rapids and Veda Simmons of Des Moines; and 11 grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Murdoch Chapel, Marion, by the Rev. Robert Shackelford of Winfield, Ill., and the Rev. Thom Heflin of Squaw Creek Baptist Church. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 5 to 9 tonight in the chapel. A memorial fund has been established.
