Services Tuesday for Marvin Nielsen, 58
Marvin E. "Smokey" Nielsen, 58 of 675 Central avenue and a lifelong Marion resident, died Saturday following a sudden illness.
He was born Jun 11, 1912, at Marion. One June 19, 1931, he was married to Bessie Pinch at Marion. Mr. Nielsen was a bulk tank wagon dealer with the Sun Ray DX Oil Co. for 21 years. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and the United Commercial Travelers Assn.
Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Matthews of Cuperfino, Calif., and Mrs. Don Fredericksen of Marion; five grandchildren; his father and step-mother, Andrew and Eldeva Nielsen of Waubeek; five brothers, Rayman of Waubeek, Ronald of Alburnett, Harold of Marion, Richard of Central City, and Robert of Mill Valley, Calif., and a sister, Mrs. George Brown of Anamosa.
Services 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Murdoch chapel in Marion conducted by the Rev. Charles Moore. Burial: Cedar Memorial cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 4 pm. Sunday.
