Memorial
David R. Kessler, 76 of Cedar Rapids died Tuesday June 5, 2018 at the Mercy Hospice House in Hiawatha. Memorial services at 11:00 AM on Friday at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include David’s longtime significant other Trudy Berry, two daughters Deborah Kessler of Cedar Rapids and Tracy Houston of Olin. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Betty Kessler of Cedar Rapids, 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Paul and his dog Scooter.

Dave was born on August 7, 1941 in Cedar Rapids the son of Roy and Dorothea Miller Kessler. He married Barb Hosford. They were later divorced.

Dave worked in the Forestry Division, and later as a carpenter, working through the local Carpenters Union for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, yard work, gardening, and was a skilled woodworker. Dave will forever be remembered as a wonderful companion, father, grandfather and friend.

Memorial donation may be given to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
