Funeral of Mrs. Elliott.
Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Steen Elliott were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Yocom chapel by the Rev. C.G. Ellinger, pastor of the Congregational church. Pallbearers were W.K. Lothian, Ed Sigfred, Frank Shumack and Elmer Hollingsworth. Burial was in Oak Shade cemetery. Mrs. Elliott was born at New Lisbon, Wis., Oct. 6, 1868, the daughter of Robert and Catherine Steen. In 1884 the family moved to Marion and Mrs. Elliott was graduated from Marion high school. She was married in 1889 to William E. Elliott and they made their home at various times at Grand Rapids, Boston and Lynn, Mass. Mr. Elliott died at Lynn Feb. 25, 1931. Following Mr. Elliot's death Mrs. Elliott made her home in Marion. She was a member of the Congregational church, of Marion chapter No. 183, O.E.S., and of the Entre Nous club. She is survived by six brothers: Herbert Steen of Delmar, Horace Steen of Kerkhoven, Minn., George Steen of Spring Lake, Mich., Ellsworth Steen of Porland, Ore., Fred Steen of Marblehead, Mass., and a sister, Miss Lillian Steen of Spring Lake, Mich. Relatives here to attend the services were Horace Steen and Margaret Steen of Kerkhoven, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Steen of Philadelphia, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Steen of Marblehead, Mass., and Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Steen and their daughter, Laura, of Delmar.
