A shade of gloom was cast over our beautiful city yesterday on the announcement of the death of Mr. L.L. Elliott. Mr. Elliott has ever been a prominent citizen of the town and was for many years Linn county's faithful and efficient deputy treasurer, a man whose character was above reproach and who commanded the respect and esteem of all who knew him. In his death his lonely widow mourns the loss of a kind and loving husband and the community loses a public spirited and benevolent citizen.

The funeral of L.L. Elliott will take place Friday afternoon at two o'clock at his late residence. All K. of P. members are requested to meet at the lodge room at one o'clock sharp, Friday; the members of the L.R. are also requested to come in full uniform.
