Mrs. Lavanda Catherine Plattenberger, daughter of Michael and Catherine Moses was born at Lisbon, Iowa, October 19, 1865. She was one of a family of eleven children, six boys and five girls, five of whom survive, namely O. S. Moses of DeWitt, Iowa, Z. R. of Hudson, Wyoming; E. L. of Buffalo, N.Y., and two sisters, Mrs. Alice Spady of Wilbur, Nebr., and Mrs. Cora Kurtz of Grundy Center, Iowa.

She was married to Reuben J. Warg on March 20, 1884. To this union two children were born, Gordon, who passed away March 1, 1913, and Mrs. Hallie Zalesky of West Branch. Mr. Warg departed this life March 1, 1919.

Mrs. Warg was united in marriage to Phillip Plattenberger June 30, 1920. She has lived in the Lisbon community practically all her life with the exception of a few years at Wyoming, Iowa. The past few years she has been in ill health, her condition gradually growing worse until death relieved her of her suffering at 12:20 p.m. February 13, 1934, at the age of 69 yars, 3 months and 25 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, her daughter, one grandchild, Merle Zalesky, and four step grand children; also her brothers and sisters.

The funeral services were held at the Federated church Thursday afternoon, February 15, at 2:30 o'clock conducted by her pastor, Rev. L. P. Krome. Interment was made in the Lisbon cemetery.
