Acie C. Young, 62, Dies at His Home
Acie Charles Young, 62, died at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday at his home, 1373 Ninth street, following a brief illness. Born at Coon Rapids Sept. 4, 1880, he was married to Susie C. Cramer at Bagley June 12, 1901. The Youngs came to Marion from Anamosa 12 years ago.
In addition to his wife, survivors are the following sons and daughters, Clifford, Anamosa; Mrs. Bonnie Meade and V.C. Young, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Ethel Kidwell, Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Lillian Karal, Fairfax; Mrs. Ruby Aldrich, Monticello; Mrs. Eva Burns and Mrs. Dorothy Price, Marion; Private First Class Harold Young, with the marines in the Pacific; three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Bradenburg, Mrs. Grace Cramer and Mrs. Ray Moore of Marengo; a brother, Harrison Young, Cedar Rapids, and 23 grandchildren. One son preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Yocom chapel at 2:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. A.W. Henke. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
