A. Ray Jones Marion Twp. Farmer Dies
A. Ray Jones, a retired livestock dealer and farmer and life-long resident of Marion township passed away at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20.
Mr. Jones was born April 20, 1896 at Marion, the son of John E. and Elizabeth Morley Jones. On April 12, 1911 he was united in marriage to Miss Grace May Hough at Cedar Rapids. He was a member of the Marion Presbyterian church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Donald R. Jones, Chico, Calif., and John E. Jones, Cedar Rapids, and two daughters, Mrs. Leonard (Faye) Dunn, Long Island, N.Y. and Mrs. Donald (Josephine) Haines, Marion; seven grandchildren: Judith and Joel Dunn of Long Island, Dennis R. Haines of Marion, Lois, Edward and Phillip Jones of Chico, Calif., and Connie Jones of Cedar Rapids; and two great grandchildren: Douglas and Debra Jones of Chico, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. P.A. (Julia) Osborne, Dennison, Texas. A brother, Walter and two sisters Mabel and Ella Marie preceded him in death.
Memorial services were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at the Murdoch chapel by the Rev. Jean P. Hauter, pastor of the Marion Presbyterian church. Interment was in Oak Shade cemetery.
