MONTICELLO, Iowa - Delbert R. Holub, 74, of Monticello, died Saturday Feb. 1, 2003, at the Monticello Care Center.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, with the Rev. Donald Schmitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Prairieburg, where military rites will be accorded by the Monticello Drill Team. Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kramer Funeral Home, Monticello.

He was born on April 27, 1928, in Linn County, son of Raymond and Rose (Lawrence) Holub.

Before joining the Army, he farmed. He served his country from 1951 to 1953 in Germany. He later worked at the Iowa Manufacturing Plant, Cedar Rapids, until he retired. He enjoyed taking pictures.

Surviving are his mother, Rose Holub, of Cascade; two brothers, Gerald (Barbara), of Cascade, and Arnold Holub, of Monticello; his nieces and nephews, Diane (Gene) Kula, Sheryl (Scott) Snyder, Alan (Sherryl) Holub, Daniel Holub, Lance (Colleen) Holub and Angie (Paul) Kronlage; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather.
