Oxley was born Jan. 14, 1883, east of Marion. He was a graduate of Marion high school and Coe college.
He served as a member of the Marion Library board since 1944 and was a 50-year life member of Marion Lodge No. 6 AF and AM, Chapter No. 10 R.A>M. and Apollo commandery No. 26 KT. He served as treasurer of the Marion Independent school district from 1946 to 1960. He was also a former park board member and was one of the organizers of the Marion Country club.
Services: Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Murdoch chapel. Masonic services will be held by Marion Lodge No. 6. All Master Masons are asked to meet at the temple at 1:45 p.m.
