Mrs. May Turner Died Sunday Noon; Lifelong Resident
Mrs. Hattie May Turner died at 12:05 p.m. Sunday at a Cedar Rapids hospital. She was born in Marion October 18, 1864, the daughter of John Adams and Louisa McKnight Dutton. She was married in Marion April 30, 1888 to Denton J. Turner, who died in Chicago February 16, 1907. Their only daughter, Eunice, died in that city at the age of 15. Surviving are two Cedar Rapids nephews, W.L. Lowe, formerly of Marion, and O.M. Lowe. She was a member of the Marion Presbyterian church for fifty years. One of the charter members of this church, James McKnight, was her grandfather.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Yocom chapel, the Rev. C.V.R. DeJong in charge of the services. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
