The Cedar Rapids Evening Gazette Saturday February 13, 1904 Marion News:
Miss Rose Canterfield died rather suddenly at the home of her brother, James Heffron, North Fourteenth street, Thursday afternoon, at 5 o'clock. The cause of her death was old age and other complications. The funeral was held from the Catholic church this morning at 10 o'clock and interment was at Kenwood cemetery.

--The sudden death of Miss Rose Cauterfield[sic] at an advanced age, occured[sic] Thursday afternoon of last week, at the residence of her brother, James Heffron. The funeral was held at the Catholic church on Saturday, and the remains interred in the Catholic cemetery at Kenwood Park.
