Edward J. Doyle, 91, former Cedar Rapids resident, died in Elgin, Ill., at the home of his son-in-law, Frank C. Gallagher, Thursday at 12:30 a.m. after a lingering illness.
Born Jan. 12, 1863, at Tipton, he left Cedar Rapids about 25 years ago. He had been in Elgin for the last 10 years.
Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Mary Templeman and Mrs. Richard Meyers, and a nephew, P.E. Ford, all of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of Elgin.
The body will arrive in Marion Saturday afternoon and will be taken by the Monahan funeral home directly to Mt. Calvary cemetery where graveside services will be conducted by the Rev. J.D. Kearn at 4:15 p.m.
