John Domer Dies.
John Domer, 87, a retired farmer, died Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Jordan, four miles northwest of Alburnett, following a long illness.
Born on a farm north of Cedar Rapids Feb. 19, 1867, his life had been spent in Linn county except for seven years in Missouri. At one time he operated the Domer grocery in Marion, leaving the store to farm in Missouri and Linn county.
He was married to Martha Engel Sept. 19, 1893, at Palo. Mrs. Domer died Dec. 20, 1945, at their home north of Marion.
Mr. Domer was a member of the Marion Methodist church.
Surviving are a son, Earl Domer of Marion; two other daughter, Mrs. Ruby Sawyer, of Cedar Rapids and Mrs Onieda Humphrey of Puerto Rico; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Neitert of San Antonio, Texas.
Memorial services will be conducted at the Murdoch funeral home at a time to be announced later. Friends may call at the chapel.
