Paul J. Hickman, 79, a farmer and lifelong resident of the rural Alburnett and Marion community, died at his farm home at Rural Route 3, Marion, Wednesday morning, Jan. 16, following a sudden illness.
He was born the son of Marcus and Nellie McCreery Hickman on Jan. 16, 1901, at Marion.
Mr. Hickman was a 1920 graduate of Alburnett High School, and was a member of the United Methodist Church of Alburnett.
Surviving are two sisters, Mildred Hickman of Marion, and Mrs. Leighton (Irene) McCrary of Pacific Junction, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle Robertson.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion. Conducted by the Rev. J. Elmer Brunk. Interment was in Cedar Memorial Park. A Memorial Fund has been established.
