Max O. Biesecker Services Sunday
The body of the late Max O. Biesecker, who was killed in an accident on the Phillipine Islands three years ago, will arrive in Cedar Rapids Friday night at 7 p.m. for final burial.
Services will be held at the Yocom chapel at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Richard Goins officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Marion American Legion and the United States Naval Reserve. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
Pallbearers are James Marsh, Milo Glass, Richard Pinch, Clair Keenan, Tom Benedict and Ted Davin.
He was killed by a falling tree on March 16, 1945, while serving in the Navy on overseas duty. He enlisted in the Navy in October, 1941, following his graduation from Marion high school.
His body arrived in America on August 12 and was then sent to the American Graves Registration Distribution center in Kansas City, Mo.
His parents are Mr. and Mrs. James O. Biesecker, 1623 Ninth avenue.
