CENTRAL CITY
Mary E. Hiebert, 79, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, in her home following a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Thursday, Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, by the Rev. Tim Walker. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are two sons [names omitted for privacy]; a sister, Edna Wood of Marion; two sisters-in-law, Hazel Wright of Marion and Enid Wright of Cedar Rapids; two grandsons [names omitted for privacy] and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Donald, who died in infancy; and three brothers, Wesley, Robert and Ray.
Born the daughter of Walter and Rose Shebek Wright on July 24, 1919, in Norcross, Minn., she was united in marriage to Clarence K. Hiebert on Jan. 8, 1947, in Cedar Rapids. He died June 24, 1965. Mary cleaned many homes and businesses in the Central City area. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Central City.
A memorial fund has been established in Mary's memory.
