Emmett W. Leonard, 80, a retired farmer and lifelong resident of the Coggon area, passed away at 11 a.m. Jan. 29 at a Monticello nursing home. He was born the son of Hugh and Jessie Keegan Leonard on Sept. 13, 1893 in Boulder Township. Mr. Leonard was a member of St. John's Catholic church of Coggon.
Surviving are cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert and Tommy Leonard; and three sisters, Leona and Mae Leonard and Isabel McAreavy.
A funeral mass was offered at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at St. John's Catholic church in Coggon by the Rev. R.J. Axen. Interment was in Calvary cemetery at Ryan. Murdoch funeral home in Coggon were in charge of the arrangements. Rosary was recited Thursday at 8 p.m.
