Mrs. Otillie Spindler Horak, mother of Mrs. Ernest Sykora, passed away at a Cedar Rapids hospital Tuesday following a brief illness. She had made her home with Mrs. Sykora since 1958.
Mrs. Horak was born in Czechoslovakia Dec. 28, 1896, and came to Cedar Rapids in 1920 following her marriage to Bohumir Horak Aug. 25, 1919. Mr. Horak died in 1949.
Surviving are the three daughters, Mrs. Sykora, Mrs. Duane Graybill of Waterloo, and Mrs. George E. Nemec of Cedar Rapids; and two sons Joseph of Mt. Vernon and George of Cedar Rapids; 12 grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers in Czechoslovakia.
Services were held Thursday morning at the Kuba Funeral Home and at the St. Wesceslaus Church at 10 a.m. by The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Anthony W. Chiahak. Burial was at St. John's.
