Death of Mrs. Lydia Remley.

The death of Mrs. Lydia Remley occurred last Saturday night, Nov. 14, of pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at the Baptist church, the pastor, Rev. H.F. McDonald, conducting the services.
Lydia Whipple was born in Chautauqua county, New York, Aug. 14, 1832, hence was just 76 years and three months old at the time of her death. She was married to Frank Remley in 1853, and the following year came to Iowa, settling in Marion. Her husband died in a hospital in Memphis, Tenn., during the civil war. He was a cousin of ex-Judge H.M. Remley, of Anamosa and Hon. Milton Remley, of Iowa City.
Two daughters were born to the deceased and her husband, Ida and Cora, both deceased. Cora was the first wife of Geo. C. Robinson, to whom was born one son, Frank, who resides in the state of Washington. Mrs. Remley is survived by two brothers, Ithamer C. Whipple, of Cheyenne, who was present at the funeral, and Edmond P. Whipple, also her stepmother, Mrs. C.A. Whipple of Marion. Another brother, Daniel F. Whipple, a former well-known resident of Marion, died in Cheyenne several years ago.
