Marion Worthan, 73, of 6819 Kent Drive NE died Thursday at a Cedar Rapids hospital following a brief illness. A six-year Cedar Rapids resident, he had previously lived in New England for 28 years.
Born June 16, 1907, at Cedar Rapids, he was married to Ethel Vivian Brousard on May 29, 1926, at Jesup. He had been superintendent, general manager and vice president of New England area bakeries and had been employed by Peter Pan Bakery for 28 years. He was a 50-year member and president of the New England Bakers Association, the bakers association in Florida, was a Master Mason and member of the Consistory and a 32nd degree Shrine member in New England.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Deloris Gnagy of Long Beach, Calif.; one son, Bruce of Long Beach, Calif.; one sister, Henryetta Condon of Cedar Rapids; and one brother, Fred of Cedar Rapids.
Services: 3 p.m. Saturday at Turner Chapel West by the Rev. Gordon Packard of St. James United Methodist Church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 3 p.m. today.
