Dennis J. Hobel, 50, of Marion, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a sudden illness. Graveside services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion, with American Legion Marion Post 298 officiating. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Saturday at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion.

Denny was born the son of John and Wilma Gage Hobel on Dec. 30, 1946, in Cedar Rapids, and was a graduate of Jefferson High School. He was a veteran of Vietnam, serving in the Army. Denny was an employee of Cryovac for 29 years. He was a member of American Legion Marion Post 298.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
A memorial fund has been established in Denny's memory.
