Nine Year Old Former Resident Killed By Auto
Miles Kenneth James, 9 year old son of Noel P. and Phyllis Newcomb James passed away suddenly Tuesday morning at Bell Garden, Cal., after being struck by an automobile while crossing the street.
He was born March 14, 1944 at Cedar Rapids and lived in Marion until he and his mother joined his father in the East while his family was in the service. The family had been in California about a year. He attended the Methodist Sunday School.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Newcomb of Marion and Mr. and Mrs. Sam James of Ft. Madison.
The remains are to be returned to Marion where services will be conducted at the Yocom-Murdoch Funeral Home by Rev. James P. Gable at a time to be announced later. Interment will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
