Ruth E. Tucker, 78, of 700 35th St., a resident of Marion since 1950 died Friday, Jan. 13, 1984 at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. She was born the daughter or Ernest Uriah and Minnie Smola Ralston on Dec. 30, 1905 near Center Point. On Sept. 19, 1923 at Marion she was married to John O. Tucker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband; tow sons, Edmund E. Tucker of Hiawatha and John R. Tucker of Cedar Rapids; a daughter Kay Van Hoose of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren {private}; 2 great grandchildren; four sisters, Eleanor Carpenter of Waubeek, Mary Johnson of Cedar Rapids, and Helen Ozburn and Orpha Thomas, both of Springville; and two brothers, Ralph Ralston of Anamosa and C.W. Ralston of Okeechobee, Fla.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Jay A. Miller. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
