John O. Tucker, 81, of 700 35th Street, Marion, died Wednesday morning, March 27, at his home following a sudden illness. He was born the son of Edmond W. and Emily Serovy Tucker on Oct. 10. 1903 at Cedar Rapids. On Sept. 19, 1923 at Marion, he was married to Ruth E. Ralston who died Jan. 13, 1984. A life time resident of the Cedar Rapids and Marion areas, Mr. Tucker was a self-employed trucker for 36 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marion. Surviving are two sons, a daughter, two grandchildren {private}; two brothers, Edmund W. Tucker and Walter C. Tucker, both of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Emily Krause of Cedar Rapids and Mildred Larimer of Reno, Nevada. He was preceded in death by a sister, Orrel Tucker.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 30, 1985 at the Murdoch Chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Jay Miller. Interment was in Oak Shade Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
