COLLINS--Alexander Collins, died at a local hospital, January 4, 1924, at the age of 82 years, nine months and five days. He was born in Jackson county, Ohio, April 20, 1841. When very young, the family took up their home in Illinois, where he grew to manhood, later moving to Iowa, where he has been a resident for the past fifty years. Most of this time was spent in this county near Marion.
Mrs. Collins is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. ? Stanton of Tipton and one son, Herbert A. with whom he has made his home for the past twelve years. He is survived by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral service was held at the Wymer mortuary today at 2 p.m. Rev. James McKenzie officiated and burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery at Marion.
