Charles E. Guzzle Dies; Was Retired Railroad Worker
Charles Lee Guzzle, 68, retired Milwaukee railroad car inspector and lifelong resident of Marion, died suddenly at 4:30 p.m. Friday at his home, 187 Tenth street.
Born in Marion Sept. 3, 1875, he was married in November, 1899, to Christina Cooley of near Waubeek. She died in Marion in January, 1933, and in May, 1939, he was married to Blanche Toeller. After 40 years of railroad service, he retired in 1940. He was a member of the Christian church and of the Brotherhood of Railway Car Men.
In addition to his wife, survivors are two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Harmie Knouf and Howard GUzzle, Cedar Rapids; Roy Guzzle, Ottumwa, and Arlene Guzzle, at home; a brother, Harley Guzzle, Marion; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services will be held in the Yocom chapel at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Vernon H. Carter will officiate and burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel.
