Funeral of W.W. Russell.
The funeral of W.W. Russell was held from the Methodist church at 2 p.m. yesterday, the Rev. J.B. Meloy, under whom Mr. Russell united with the Prairie chapel church, having charge of the service. The Rev. A.H. Hanscom, pastor of the local church, and the Rev. J.B. Jones also assisted. There were many neighbors and friends at the service, accompanying the body to burial in Oak Shade cemetery. Among the relatives and intimate friends from a distance were George Hagerman, Mr. and Mrs. James Hagerman, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hagerman and their daughter, and Mrs. Will Beggs of Toddville; Mr. and Mrs. George Greenwood, Theodore Saylor and Nathan Franklin of Shellsburg; Mr. and Mrs. George Russell, Mrs. Refflider, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Russell, Mr. and Mrs. John Russell, Mrs. James Briggs, Mrs. Wisenberg and Roy Russell of Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Russell was born in Linn county, November 30, 1857, and was married June 26, 1901, to Mis sEdith L. Hoffman of Winfield, Md. They had made their home on a farm near Marion.
Mr. Russell is survived by his wife, a sister, Mrs. LeRoy Candey[sic] of Marion, and two brothers, George of Cedar Rapids, and Alonzo of Palo Alto, Cal.
