Mrs. M.J. Adams, Old Settler of Linn, Died This Morning

Death came this morning to one of the oldest residents of Linn county, when Mrs. M.J. Adams, 87, died at her home north of Marion.
She was born in a log cabin near Alburnett Dec. 30, 1847, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O.N. Gray, and all her life has called this county home. She was married to John Adams in 1864, and five children were born to them, of whom three survive, Mrs. Anna Webb of Independence, and L.C. Adams and Dell Adams at home. They[sic] are four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sister[sic], Mrs. S.D. White and Mrs. N.D. Pence of Jewell, Kansas.
Mrs. Adams was an early church member, and during her later years was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church.
Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Yocom chapel with Rev. W.E. Fisher in charge.
