Marion Sentinel Thursday Sept. 26, 1935
Mrs. C.H. Westcott[sic] , 84, died suddenly Tuesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Merrill Brundage, 608 Eighth avenue. She was the widow of a veteran Milwaukee conductor who died here in 1919, and had resided in Marion since 1912.
Mrs. Westcott was born in Millwood, Ohio, August 12, 1851, coming to Iowa as a child with her parents, settling on a farm near Wyoming. She was married in 1880, living in Savanna, Clinton and Council Bluffs before coming to Marion. She was a long and faithful member of the Presbyterian church. Though for the past twelve years has been confined to a wheel-chair, she maintained a cheerful disposition and retained earlier friendships and graces.
The five surviving children are Mrs. Brundage and Chas. Westcott of Marion; Mrs. Lebenia Jaseph[sic] of Council Bluffs, and Chester Westcott and Mrs. Louise Miguet of Cedar Rapids. There are five grandchildren and three great-granchildren. One brother, James Lindsey, lives at Brookings, S.D.
Funeral services for Mrs. Westcott will be held this afternoon at the Yocom chapel, with Dr. W.E. Fisher of the Presbyterian church in charge. Burial will be in Oak Shade cemetery.
