Mildred M. Hay, 87, a lifelong resident of Marion, died Sunday, April 18, 1999, in Chariton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chariton, following a short illness. Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, by the Rev. Marty Schuhmacher. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Surviving family members omitted for privacy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
Born the daughter of John and Leota Clemans Sidlinger on Feb. 9, 1912, in Marion, she married George C. Hay on April 25, 1931, in Cedar Rapids. He died April 1, 1978. Mildred was employed at Turner Microphone Co. in Cedar Rapids for 24 years and was a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church in Marion.
A memorial fund has been established in Mildred's memory.
