Former Resident Dies Thursday In Chicago
Mrs. John C. Neblung, 73, a former Marion resident passed away at 5 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 26 in a Chicago hospital following a long illness.
She was born Jessie June Sturgis on June 20, 1879 at Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the Christian Church. She was married to Mr. Neblung on Nov. 14, 1900 at LaPort[sic], Ind. They moved to Marion in 1912 from Savanna and in 1933 they moved to Perry and in 1937 to Chicago.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Kenneth Neblung of Cedar Rapids and two grandsons, Kenneth and Donald of Cedar Rapids, and a brother Clyde Sturgis, LaPorte, Ind.
Memorial services were conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Murdoch Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Goins and intermnt[sic] was in Oak Shade cemetery.
