John C. Neblung, 96, 722 8th Ave., SW, Cedar Rapids, and a longtime resident of Marion, died Sunday, Jan. 18 in a Marion nursing home.
He was born the son of Fred and Minnie Wolff Nebelung[sic] Sept. 3, 1879 at LaPorte, Ind. On Nov. 14, 1900 at LaPorte, Ind. he was married to Jessie J. Sturgis, whodied Feb. 23, 1953 at Chicago, Ill. Mr. Bebelung was a Boilermaker for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad Co. for 40 years, and had worked out of the Cedar Rapids, Marion, Chicago, Savannah, and Perry offices.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth S. Neblung of Cedar Rapids; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Folino of Cleveland, Ohio; and a brother, Henry Nebelung of LaPorte, Ind.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the Murdoch chapel in Marion, conducted by the Rev. Glen W. Lamb. Interement was in Oak Shade cemetery in Marion.
