Marion A. Kinkead, 75, of 1175 Blairs Ferry Rd., died Tuesday, May 6, 1997, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a long illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Friday, Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion, by the Rev. Del Bear. Inurnment: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion. There will be no visitation.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah; three sons, a daughter, five sisters {private}; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Melvin; and a sister, Betty.
Born the son of Amos and Bernice Beiber Kinkead on March 27, 1922, in Marion, he married Sarah Brown there on May 23, 1953. Marion served with the Navy during World War II and was employed as a drill press operator for Collins Radio for 26 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of American Legion Marion Post 298.
A memorial fund has been established.
