Robert H. Dye, 68, of 905 South Sixth St., [Marion] died in his home after a sudden illness Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, First United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Stan Wierson. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, with military rites. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Murdoch Funeral Home, Marion.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bob was born Dec. 3, 1930, the son of Howard and Dorothy Sherey Dye, in Middletown, Ohio. On Aug. 20, 1961, he married {private} in San Diego, Calif. Bob served in the Navy from 1947 until August 1970, as a signalman chief. After 22 years with Quaker Oats, he retired in 1992. He was a bus driver for the Marion Independent School District and the children who rode the bus were very special to him. Bob was a member of First United Methodist Church; Fleet Reserve; Marion American Legion Post 298; and Quaker Oats Bowling League.
Bob was an avid fisherman and loved children. He will be greatly missed by his beloved dog, Molly.
