Esther M. Clough, 89, died Saturday morning March 13 at Winslow House Care Center, where she had been a resident for the past nine years.
She was born in rural Marion, Sept. 17, 1893. She married Ernest Clough Nov. 3, 1934. He died Nov. 22[sic], 1969.
Mrs. Clough graduated from Marion High School, attended Drank U. for two years and graduated from Iowa State U. at Ames. She was a member of the First Christian church, taught at Martelle, Alburnett and Marion High Schools, and was a former 4-H leader.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
Services were held at the Baxter Memorial Chapel, 100 13th Street, Marion, Tuesday at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Kenneth Adcock. Burial was in Oak Shade Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
